Handfuls of parched earth crumble like dust in the barren land. Deeply etched cracks on the hardened ground form wavy designs in soil that buckles and bakes under a scorching sun. Wind-blown sand covers remnants of dried-up vegetation. Yet, in the midst of this seemingly forgotten, thirsty land there is life...

"Some wandered in desert wastelands, finding no way to a city where they could settle. They were hungry and thirsty, and their lives ebbed away. They cried out to the Lord in their trouble, and he delivered them from their distress. He led them by a straight way to a city where they could settle..." (Psalm 107:4-9 NIV)

Read a desert story that takes place in a city.
