Green fabric
and green paper were the materials my eyes were drawn to as I asked
the Lord to help me enjoy making a piece of art with Him. Green was
for growth and yellow for His light.
When the art
was completed, it seemed to be a hodge-podge of disconnected
materials and an array of confusion. Then the workshop participants
told me to turn it upside down, with the fish on top, and it looked
much better.
It wasn’t
until the next morning that the Lord revealed the meaning of the
fabric montage. It reflected my week – which was a mixture of
distractions, enticements and obstacles that threatened to sidetrack
me and lure me off the path. But the Lord kept me moving forward,
even when it seemed like I wasn’t getting anywhere. Jesus kept me
swimming in the light of His love and leading me onward. The Lord
God is my Guide, my Life, the Way and the Path. He is the One who
will safely get me home as I swim through the ocean of life.
