Prophesy Fulfilled  
by Susan Price

A holy way will cross the deserts bare. 
A voice cried, “In the wilderness, prepare...” 
and the wilderness echoed, “repair...”

God said, “Comfort my people; comfort them” 
but the wind whispered “despair.”

Mountains will sink, valleys hinder no one; 
for us the virgin has borne her son 
so that even in deserts clear waters will run.

God tells his people, “My comfort has come” 
while angels rejoice for salvation begun.
