Golden Sword

Trouble sneaks up behind me,
It catches me off guard,
Where is the rock that’s higher,
When life keeps getting hard?
 
Through the tears and turmoil,
I see a very small light,
A speck of hope in the darkness,
But it’s getting very bright.
 
“I stretch My Hand out towards you,
Grab hold of Me – the Lord.”
Then Christ pulls out a weapon,
And brandishes a golden sword.
 
I see Him raise it higher,
“This sword is My Word,
It’s truth that comes with power,
The truth that you have heard.”
 
I hear the evil screaming,
As it scampers far away,
I am so very thankful,
Jesus rescued me today.
