On the drive home from the hospital, after anointing a young man, who was battling sickle cell anemia, and then praying for his healing, God gave Rosemary an image of a painting to make for the young man – a picture to provide daily encouragement and a flow of healing love for him. Rosemary’s prayer was that when the young man looked at the picture, he would be strengthened and healed. Eighteen months later, the young man was up and about, and vacationed in Europe with his mother.
Here is the meaning to the painting: The source of life is the Word of God becoming flesh. Yahweh, God's name, is written in Hebrew and is located on the crown of the head. The letters of this Hebrew word for God form a body of a person when written vertically. Yahweh – the source of life is pouring healing into the Tree of Life which also represents Christ's body and the young man's body.
The tree's roots are bathed in the refreshing/ purifying Living Water of Christ, and also embraced by Jesus's hands representing his sacrificial love.
The water pouring forth from the lance or gash on the trunk of the tree/ body is the same Living Water which the roots are bathed in. The water is representative of the Holy Spirit residing in us. Yahweh, Christ, and the Holy Spirit create an infinity Trinity in which we are a part.
The trunk and limbs of the tree are strong and the biceps are defined with two large atomic orbitals of the element iron. Anemia is a condition marked by a deficiency of red blood cells or of hemoglobin in the blood resulting in low iron reserves. The healthy red blood cells which transport the oxygen are now replenishing energy and strength.
It is also a reference to pumping iron which denotes strength and virility. His heart is open to the Sun/Son above, the Creator of Life and also the energy needed for photosynthesis by the Tree of Life. There are various leaves representative of the trees: Cottonwood – usually located about 30 feet from a fresh water source; Oak– known as a sturdy, strong, and majestic tree; Catalpa– with its huge leaves and fragrant flowers; Palm– flexible and withstanding hurricane force winds; Maple – the beautiful fluttering of the angel like keys or seeds. The seeds falling from the trees take flight to perpetuate the gift of life. Oh, the warmth of the Sonshine on the tree's shoulders...makes him happy.
“He reveals deep and hidden things; he knows what lies in darkness, and light dwells with him.” – Daniel 2:22 NIV

Risa Baldauf created her painting on crumpled piece of packing paper, adding fake gems and tin foil. Her interpretation is: “The tree is in a very difficult season. It does not have fruit now, but the silver leaves are to show the treasure in time of struggle. This tree will bear fruit!”
God promises that as we place our trust in Him and obey His Word we will bear fruit.
Risa’s painting is part of the Healing Gallery Traveling Art Show. When a print of it was on display at one of the churches in Illinois, a lady who was blessed and encouraged by it, shared what the Lord placed on her heart: “As scraggly a tree as you sometimes feel. know that I, the Lord God, dress you in the splendor of My mighty love with gems and treasure from Heaven. Though you may feel ill-equipped, rejoice! For I, Jesus Christ, am all you need, and I meet all your needs. It’s through the scraggly trees that I bring about victory!”

This painting by Christine Cole depicts the freedom from sin and bondage that Christ gives us when we receive Him as our Lord and Savior. It was done for a show by ex-cult members, and it depicts Christine’s journey of being in a cult and then getting set free from it (She was actually kidnapped by her two best friends and deprogrammed). It is a very powerful visual for people who have experienced bondage in their lives, and many people have been very moved by painting.
“He brought them out of darkness, the utter darkness, and broke away their chains.” – Psalm 107:14 NIV

As Vicky Martin was praying, the Lord gave her an image of a butterfly coming out of a chrysalis. This was the picture HE gave to her to paint for the young teenage girl who was on dialysis because of kidney failure. She was waiting for several years to be put on a donor list for a new kidney. At the time of the painting, the girl was not even on a list for a new kidney and the chances of her recovery looked very slim. Vicky obeyed the Lord and painted the butterfly painting and gave it to her, along with the words below to go with it. Within months she was on a transplant list, and six months later the girl was given a new kidney, and in her words "a new life." She felt immediately better after the surgery, and has now made a complete recovery.
Prophetic words to go with the painting by Vicky Martin & Sherrill Read.
Your Abba Father sees you…
“I have seen what has been going on with you. I have been with you all the way every moment. You are enveloped in my love and care.
“I have seen what you have been through. Now is a time of complete restoration.
I AM going to restore what the cankerworm has stolen. The enemy has tried to steal even your very life but I have set up a standard that the enemy will no longer be able to cross over.
“It’s a new day! It’s a new season! You are entering a new season of breakthrough!
You have been in the chrysalis for a long time and I want you to be set free to fly. Close your eyes and picture yourself flying free as a butterfly. This is what I want for you.
“You are becoming who I intended you to become in the beginning. You will live and not die! You are the head and not the tail! You may feel as if the enemy has been surrounding you. But actually, I have surrounded you with both ministering angels and loving friends to watch over you and pray for you. You are emerging out of the darkness and I AM bringing you new life.”
“See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.” – Isaiah 43:19 NIV

Sometimes it’s too easy to find ourselves in a place where we need to be rescued. We might have started out in the right direction, only to discover we took a wrong turn and got lost. We might be stuck in the mire, surrounded by a swamp, or need to be saved from a murky mess. No matter what our situation, we can cry out to the Lord Jesus Christ. HE is an expert at pulling people out the muddy waters and dangerous quicksand. HE knows where to find us. And HE will leave the 99 who are safe, to seek out the one who needs to be rescued.
Rescued by the Lord is an illustration created by Lynn Zuk-Lloyd that has brought hope to people in difficult situations. The art is part of the Healing Gallery Traveling Art Exhibit that travels to church galleries in Illinois and Indiana. The illustration has also been in exhibits at Burning Bush Art Gallery in Wheaton, and Arterie Fine Arts, when Arterie was still in Naperville. Rescued by the Lord was also published in “Speaking to the Heart” – a book containing prophetic visual art from more than 50 artists across North America.
Rescued by the Lord appears on Fine Art America, where art prints of the illustration can be purchased.
Christian Healing Art is like getting a big HUG from Jesus Christ. God wants each of us to know that HE loves us and that we are important to HIM. And one of the ways HE does this is through art: by inspiring His artists to paint or create pictures that show hope, comfort, encouragement, or peace, to assure us that God cares and that HE understands our situation. Each new posting will show a piece of art and the story to go with it. Healing art can also be called prophetic art.
